Join me for what promises to be an incredible 3-day landscape/nightscape workshop around the southwest. We will meet up at Chilis Bar and Grill in Farmington, NM to head out to our shooting locations including Bisti Badlands, Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah Wilderness Study Area, Shiprock, Muley Point Overlook (Monument Valley), and Valley of the Gods. You must be okay with a flexible itinerary, we will go where the weather and sky conditions look best. As an added incentive, I will also include a free live 2-hour image processing webcast for all workshop attendees.

I will acquire any necessary permits, guide you to the locations, assist you with composition ideas, and work with you on in-the-field techniques for shooting both landscape and nightscape photographs.

You are responsible for transportation (4WD vehicle preferred), food, accommodations, and photography gear. We generally camp in cars, tents, or campers. There may be other lodging options available but it is very dependent on the area we are in. You will need to have a DSLR (mirror or mirror-less), assortment of lenses (especially a fast wide-angle of at least f/2.8 and 24mm or wider), memory cards, batteries/chargers, headlamp(s), and a sturdy tripod/ballhead.

You should be comfortable carrying your camera gear and supplies (water/food/etc.) over uneven terrain for between 1-3 miles. Depending on the time of year, we may head out early to shoot nightscapes and stay for sunrise (early spring up to mid-summer) or we may shoot sunset and then stay out for nightscapes (mid-summer to late fall).

Workshop size will be a maximum of 8 participants with a minimum of 5 participants needed to confirm dates.  Contact me if you have any questions or need additional information.
